R&D BUSINESS PILOT · NEW YORK
Merchant-owned infrastructure. Installation and ongoing technical support.
NodeAxe Commerce builds on the Sovereign Node platform for businesses exploring self-hosted Bitcoin payment infrastructure. The initial research focus is New York cannabis retailers using Dutchie POS. Participation is by inquiry; this listing is not a ready-to-order payment service.

Deployment and onboarding
A scoped installation may include a merchant-owned server, node and payment software configuration, network setup, staff onboarding, recovery planning and controlled testing. Reference hardware options are an AMD Ryzen mini-PC platform, 16GB or 32GB RAM and 2TB or 4TB NVMe storage. Final hardware and software are specified in each pilot proposal.
Monthly monitoring and troubleshooting
A separate monthly technical-service fee covers the agreed monitoring, alerts, scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting. Support hours, response targets, included labor, onsite visits and maintenance windows are defined in the service proposal. Continuous monitoring does not imply 24/7 staffed support or guaranteed uptime.
Payment flow under evaluation
- Staff creates the sale in the existing POS.
- The merchant-hosted payment interface creates an invoice linked to a sale reference.
- The customer pays the merchant directly.
- Staff verifies payment status and reconciles the sale in the POS.
Staff-assisted reconciliation is the initial pilot approach. Automated POS updates are a separate research milestone.
Merchant control and support access
The intended architecture keeps wallets, recovery material and funds under merchant control. NodeAxe provides technical services rather than custody, exchange or settlement. Monitoring uses restricted permissions where feasible. Elevated maintenance on payment systems requires a defined merchant-authorized procedure; remote administrator access can expose spending credentials and must be assessed before deployment.
Bitcoin, Lightning and stablecoin research
Bitcoin and self-hosted Lightning payment workflows are being evaluated. Lightning funding, liquidity and recovery remain merchant responsibilities unless a separate supported technical task is agreed. Stablecoin support is an R&D track: the asset, network, wallet, issuer dependencies and settlement process must be selected and validated before inclusion.
Dutchie integration research
NodeAxe is researching connectivity with existing POS systems, initially Dutchie. No working Dutchie integration, partnership or endorsement is represented. API access, supported workflows, reconciliation and refunds must be confirmed before automated integration is offered.
Pilot scope and pricing
Hardware and installation are quoted separately from the monthly technical-service fee. Pricing is not yet set. Custom integration development requires a separate scope. Participation does not guarantee deployment, integration availability or a launch date.
Self-hosting does not by itself determine licensing obligations. Each proposed deployment requires review of its actual money flow, access permissions and applicable financial-services and cannabis requirements before live use. NodeAxe does not promise that a BitLicense or other authorization is unnecessary.
